T.G.I.F. 매우 행복 금요일의

We had a delicious lunch with friends at an American-style steakhouse restaurant with a fancy salad bar. (no chopsticks! teehee) And since we Americans miss big salads we all dove right in. Not that Koreans aren't eating large amounts of vegetation, it's just different. It's the same vegetables at every meal : cabbage, cucumbers, radish, carrot. And a salad here is spicy, with a cup of rice mixed in. Which, is good, I like it. But just not the chicken salad with ranch and all the toppings I'm used to!

I had a big salad with corn, beans, olives, tomato and nuts, and then a side of mango salad, and there was a chicken cashew salad, and yogurt with fresh fruit. Soup, pizza, fried chicken and fish, fries (drizzled with honey ...).
This place even had a taco station, and a  pho station! And the pho was actually really good. Lots of fresh cilantro and bean sprouts to mix in.

After lunch we headed to the school and since it was Friday the kids demanded a game. We played duck-duck-goose with the little students. Except we use their vocabulary words in place of "duck" and "goose" , like travel, space, dig, and plant.

The kids are so cute, their little voices speaking English with a Korean accent. And a lot of them remember my name and say "Hi Keri!" when they see me. Hi, ... you!




Tomorrow we are leaving for a short road trip to Busan, a coastal city to the South. Check out this very simple map and find Seoul near the top left, and Busan in the opposite corner of the country. We are also stopping in Gwanju.

But- don't get upset or start rioting if you don't see a new post here until Sunday. I don't know that I'll have Internet on our trip, so I'm not taking my laptop along. I know some of my loyal fans will be disappointed about that, as much as you are already disappointed in the lack of substance in this post.
