Spring 봄

Well as we drove around today the cherry trees were blooming everywhere! And it was sunny and breezy, so lots of couples were in the park for a stroll.

Click here and listen to this popular song about Spring that has been playing everywhere around here as you look at the pictures.

Jane made me some special soup for dinner, called soojaebi. It was yummy of course!

Then we met up with Jane's friend "Catwoman", who is my guest blogger tonight!

Welcome Catwoman! Are you ready?
C - yep!

How long have you been in South Korea?
C - over a year, about a year and a half.

But you were born in the states, right?
C - yes, but my parents are from Korea

What drew you to Korea?
C - Honestly, I needed urgent Eastern medicine, because I wasn't getting the help I needed at home. It was one thing after another, and I found myself here.

Interesting. So how do you like it here?
C - Hmm, ask any Korean-American (like Jane or I), we would say there are aspects that I really enjoy - the convenience of transportation, and things are nearby, wherever I go. I've noticed the technology is amazing, especially seeing the medical side of it. Korea has a lot to offer. But in terms of society, I still wish Koreans could adopt more attributes from Westerners. It can be a so serious - they don't know how to enjoy life to the fullest, they are always about work, work work work. I miss the American balance of work hard/play hard. There's no flexibility at times.

I've observed that from being here too, work is their life. Did you get see any of the blossoms today
C - yes, right by my apartment it's beautiful.

Which flower represents you, and why?
C - oh, goodness. Umm, I am a rose. I like to be original, classic, no alterations.

Nice choice. Now let's talk about the fine Korean cuisine. What's you favorite food here?
C- I like everything. I don't have a favorite
J - Samgyupsal - you know, that pork you had your first day here, Keri?
C - that's one of my favorites ...
J - and she likes duck

Alright ... anything else you want to add? Oh, I'm grabbing a make-up removing wipe, do you want one?
C - no thanks. I'll just add how I do think Jehovah has helped me in a way that I never expected. He never lets us down. If we're willing to do Jehovah's will, He will make it work. I've been able to maintain my regular pioneering, despite having health concerns.

That's great to hear, very encouraging.
What's something I should definitely see or do before I leave?
C - karaoke! Its not like in the states, its a private room just for your group.
J - oh, you know I've never gone!
C - its very stress-relieving! Let's go!

Oh that sounds fun. Ok, one last question, Catwoman, what are your super-powers?
C - dealing with Jane, hahaha
J - Hey! I see how this is
